Electrical Remodel Wiring

Electrical Wiring for Kitchen, Bathroom & Home Renovations in Pierce, Thurston & Kitsap Counties

Electrical rough-in wiring during a home remodel in Tacoma

A kitchen or bathroom remodel touches almost every system in your home โ€” including electrical. New appliances, under-cabinet lighting, exhaust fans, heated floors, and additional circuits all need a licensed electrician to wire correctly and up to code. Short Stop Electrical LLC is the electrical contractor of choice for remodel projects throughout Tacoma and Pierce, Thurston & Kitsap Counties.

We work alongside your general contractor or directly with homeowners on DIY remodels. Our team handles all rough-in wiring during the open-wall phase and returns for trim-out (device, fixture, and cover plate installation) once drywall is done โ€” keeping your project on schedule.

Every remodel circuit is permitted, AFCI/GFCI protected where code requires, and inspected before walls close. No surprise re-dos.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit for electrical work in a remodel?

In Washington State, any new circuit, panel modification, or service change requires a permit. Replacing like-for-like devices (outlets, switches) in an existing location generally doesn't. We'll tell you exactly what needs a permit on your specific project and handle all the paperwork.

When during a remodel should I call an electrician?

Call us before demo if possible โ€” we can identify what's already in the walls and flag issues early. We need to be on-site during the rough-in (open-wall) phase before insulation and drywall go up, and again for trim-out once walls are finished.

Can you work directly with my general contractor?

Absolutely. We work with GCs regularly and communicate directly on scheduling, rough-in timing, and code requirements. We're used to coordinating with plumbers, HVAC, and tile crews.
